THE GUT AND PSYCHOLOGY SYNDROME DIET

A THERAPEUTIC APPROACH
TO YOUR GUT HEALTH.

The microbiome of your gut directly correlates to your overall physical and mental health. Unfortunately, today’s food sources directly contribute to gut health issues and chronic conditions commonly known as Leaky Gut Syndrome. A leaky gut allows unwanted food and toxins to enter the bloodstream, directly affecting how you feel mentally and physically.

But thanks to our innovative approach, Grey Matters is helping solve this problem by incorporating the GAPS Diet.

THE GAPS DIET
EXPLAINED.

The GAPS diet builds off the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD), first presented by Dr. Sidney Valentine Haas in the 1920s. In 2004, Dr. Natasha Campbell took the SCD and published the first GAPS diet book. The groundbreaking diet plan took a different approach to nutrition, focusing on nutrient-rich foods.

The 4 Recommendations of GAPS

  • Eliminate grains, starchy vegetables, and refined carbohydrates.
  • Focus on nutrient-dense foods that are easy to digest.
  • Introduce the diet in 6 stages, with stage 1 being the most restrictive (and important).
  • Add more foods back into the diet as you progress through it.

WHY CONSIDER THE GAPS DIET
THE GAPS DIET CAN IMPROVE MENTAL
HEALTH SYMPTOMS & CONDITIONS

Improving your gut health can impact and improve mental health. In fact, some research suggests that certain dietary modifications found in the GAPS diet can help decrease autism symptoms [1]. In addition, others prove that caring for your gut through diet and added probiotics improves life quality for those with irritable bowel syndrome, which in turn reduces depression and anxiety symptoms [2].
